Tuscan Tannery.Forty Days of Bark. One in Four Accepted.

Our story begins at a family-owned tannery in the foothills of Tuscany, where the air still carries the warm bite of oak and chestnut. We select only the finest full-grain hides — pelts read by hand, weighed by eye, and chosen for the way they catch raking light.

Each skin is tanned with vegetable bark over the slow span of forty days. No shortcuts. No chemistry that the leather will betray a decade from now. What emerges is a material that remembers — fingerprints, sunlight, the bend of a pocket — and gives all of it back as patina.

Hand Cut.Steel Templates.0.2 mm Tolerance.

Each component is hand-cut against traditional steel patterns, then skived along the edge with a knife sharpened that morning. Our master artisan pares the grain to an absolute lean nuance — decades of muscle memory guiding the smallest imperfection.

No two folds ever quite repeat. That is not a flaw of the method. It is the method.

Two Needles. One Waxed Linen Thread.A Seam That Will Not Unravel.

Unlike machine-made products, every ZAYR wallet is hand-stitched using two needles drawn through a single length of waxed linen thread. Each stitch is set, locked, and seated — twice through the leather — before the next is even threaded.

If a stitch breaks, the rest holds. A seam that cannot unravel. The kind of detail you will never see in the wearing, but the kind that will still be intact long after the object has outlived its first owner.

Eight Coats of Resin.Burnished by Bone.A Mirror in Leather.

The raw edge is methodically sanded, painted, and burnished over several hours. A bone folder applies eight successive coats of resin, each one cured, sanded back, and laid again until the layers disappear into a single continuous line.

Run a thumb along the edge of a finished ZAYR piece and you will feel nothing — no seam, no ridge, no hesitation. That silence is the mark of a true masterpiece.

A Final Breath.

24k Gold Leaf.Hand Pressed.No. 001 / 100.

Each wallet is permanently pressed into the leather using 24k gold leaf and a vintage hot-stamping machine, the kind that requires a heated palm to align and a held breath to release. A subtle signature that endures the object's years, and yours.

Numbered. Dated. Signed by the single pair of hands that made it.
